Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey may have been notorious for snubbing rappers on her television show but the mogul was hanging out with Jay-Z in his old hood, Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects, on Sunday and apparently loving every minute of it.
The media powerhouse called into her best friend Gayle King’s radio show on Monday and praised the rapper saying, “Oh, Jay-Z is my new best friend.”
“He was so charming and delightful, and he smelled so good! And it’s that kind of thing where you hug a guy, and the scent is sort of buried in them. When we went to the second location, I could still smell him on me. It was like, ‘Oh, this is wonderful.’ ”
Winfrey said her two-hour interview with Hova would be for her magazine O and not for her talk show.
“It was really a conversation, and at the end of the day, you feel like you get to know someone,” she said. “I feel like I met a new friend. It was really great.”
Blindie is hoping Oprah is just trying to keep a Jay-Z television special under wraps by throwing everyone off with talk about the magazine. How can you have a two-hour interview with Beyonce’s husband, and oh yeah, one of rap’s biggest artist, and not air it on your show? Maybe 50 Cent was right when he told the Associated Press, “I think she caters to older white women…So, I could care less about Oprah or her show.”
